The Sandman’s Mark

A Psychological Supernatural Horror Novel

About

Chloe should be safe in her bed.
But something waits for her when she sleeps.

When Chloe and her parents move into Elm Brook Manor, strange things begin to happen. Children’s voices echo through empty corridors. Shadows linger where they shouldn’t. And at night, a presence slips quietly into Chloe’s dreams—watching, waiting, leaving behind the stench of decay.

The Sandman does not roar.
He does not chase.
He whispers.

As Chloe struggles to understand the terror invading her sleep, the cracks in her family widen. Her parents’ secrets fester. Love turns conditional. Trust erodes. And the line between nightmare and reality begins to blur, pulling Chloe—and the reader—into a slow, suffocating descent.

This is not a monster-in-the-closet tale.

The Sandman’s Mark is a psychological supernatural horror about childhood vulnerability, buried family truths, and the terrifying power of the unknown. With vivid, visceral prose and an atmosphere thick with dread, Iwan Ross crafts a haunting story that seeps under the skin and lingers long after the final page.

Prepare to be pulled into the darkness.
Sleep will never feel the same again.

Leaving an Indelible Mark

‘The Sandman’s Mark,’ a supernatural thriller by Iwan Ross, leaves an indelible mark on the reader. Like the sandman who stalks dreams, lurks in the shadows, and leaves a telltale stench of decay in his wake, the author’s formidable flair for writing breathes life on every page. His vivid descriptions, ethereal or visceral, allow the reader to probe the depths of Chloe’s soul, and see her parents, Gilbert and Sandra, as they really are. Little by little, everything falls into place. Each revelation, its own mindbender.

Shrouded in mystery and the supernatural—Chloe died three times—the surreal story, awash in pathos, is unpredictably shocking and tantalizing. I highly recommend ‘The Sandman’s Mark,' a well-crafted and imaginative story oozing life and death.

I just finished Iwan Ross's '𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘮𝘢𝘯'𝘴 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘬,' and I'm still reeling. The atmosphere he creates is palpable; I could practically feel the dust in my own throat, the chilling presence in Chloe's every panicked breath. The slow burn of dread, the way the lines between dream and reality warp, is masterfully executed. Ross doesn't just tell you a story; he pulls you down into the darkness with Chloe.

The supporting characters, Sandra and Gilbert, aren't just props; they're vital, complex cogs in this 𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗳𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲. Their secrets and motivations keep you guessing, adding another layer of unsettling tension. This isn't your typical monster-in-the-closet tale. It's a 𝗽𝘀𝘆𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 descent, a gut-wrenching exploration of fear, family secrets, and the terrifying power of the unknown. Prepare to be haunted long after you turn the final page. A very scary sinister is in this tale!

The main character - a girl is haunted by a sinister in her dreadful dreams and deathly nightmares. Only to find out that she would be doubtful with the most important people in her life! However, she has some ‘friends’ on her side to accompany her and to make her feel she is not alone facing those moments against strange and scary things.

It got me scared indeed reading those parts and I can still hear the laughter of the sinister creature as it torments its vessels and wreaks havoc on its victims.

It touches on human greed, wickedness, manipulation and the inevitable moment of retribution.

The author Iwan Ross writes his narratives patiently and intricately. A marvellous read!
