Paranormal and more
I found this story to be a unique paranormal read with a loving couple who became engaged. Did they marry? I leave that for the next readers. The Hope Diamond is front and center throughout this book in many different ways. Ethereal ghosts are almost in every home and abode. Mostly kind, some a bit bitter, and other men who try to kill the main male protagonist. A lot happens in the span of a 2- 3 hour drive. That final clue needed by those who wished to claim it, whether entitled to claim it or not. Danger lurks everywhere, even on the high seas. This book is descriptive, some even repetitions of phrases. I would have preferred more dialogue in bringing the story to life, but that is my preference.

Dark humor, lighthearted storytelling, and romance combine for an entertaining story. The narrative is remarkably compelling, although improved plot pacing through dialogue would have been beneficial. I really enjoyed the book and its characters.

This is a cool historical fiction mystery with ghosts, apparitions, twists and turns. When Coby inherits a hotel, problems are appearing. His little baby, a son from previous marriage Cameron and wife Grace will be included in whirlwind of unexpected events. They will have enemies, dead and alive. Sentences are carefully shaped, with vivid descriptions and emotions. A recommended read for readers of mystery, horror and drama.

Keeper of the Lighthouse is my first read by Iwan Ross and won’t be my last! As a lover of a bit of supernatural in my mysteries, I was enticed by the description of this gothic tale. Though this is Book 3 of The McTavish Chronicles, I had no trouble reading it as a standalone.
Famous writer Cody McTavish learns he has inherited not only Lady Grimlock’s estate, Serpent’s Manor, but also a luxury hotel on the mysterious Tempest Island, making him a very wealthy man. Along with his vast inheritance comes tales and legends of dark family tragedies, hidden treasures, and secrets. As a writer, Cody’s curiosity is peaked. He wants to discover the truth and solve the mysteries of the island that many say is cursed. Unfortunately, a powerful man declares himself the rightful owner and will stop at nothing to claim what is his. Cody and his girlfriend Gracie head to the Island with their newborn baby boy to uncover truths, both unaware of the danger that lurks.
Ross’s writing is very atmospheric and emotive. Every scene is vividly described, peaking all of the readers’ senses. I felt like I was in each scene… I could feel the dampness of the fog and the chills running up my back. Even the names of people and places evoke intrigue. The characters are all compelling. I loved the interactions with the spirits, each having their own aura and personality... some serene and protective, while others were malevolent. The plot moves quickly with plenty of twists and nail-biting peril. I really enjoyed this supernatural, gothic mystery.
